Regatta Sponsor Alder Hey's First Start-Up Collaboration Programme
Regatta, along with Craghoppers and Dare2b is supporting the future of healthcare for children and young people with a new scheme run by The Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with L Marks.
Alder Hey is one of the largest children’s hospitals in Europe and is recognised as a leader in children's healthcare and research. Their ambition is to create a world-leading centre of excellence offering outstanding care, developing leading-edge research, providing the highest standards of paediatric training and introducing game changing solutions for children and young people.
To further enhance this work, they have recently launched their first start-up accelerator programme: Alder Hey Innovation Lab, which Regatta is proudly sponsoring through the Regatta Foundation. The scheme will offer start-ups the opportunity to implement their innovative solutions which could support in providing exceptional care to children, young people and their families.
In November 2021, 10 shortlisted companies were given the opportunity to pitch their ideas, with a view that the successful start-ups will gain access to stakeholders within the Trust who have offered their expertise, and the opportunity to test and validate their solutions.
David Holt, Chief Operating Officer for The Regatta Group, said: “As a family-run business, with family being one of our core values, Regatta are proud to be partnering with L Marks to enable Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to launch their first Innovation Lab.”
“The Alder Hey Innovation Lab is inspiring startups to bring exciting and innovative technology into the hospital, to help solve some of the biggest healthcare challenges facing children and their families today. We are excited to see the results of the lab come to fruition.’’
Next steps will be in January 2022 when the programme will begin the testing phase.
